Create Backup (WordPress)

We provide a free backup plugin that lets you back up your WordPress website in no time.

Install and activate Simply Static Studio Backup & Migrate, and you will be redirected to this settings page:

Most of the time, you can simply click the Backup Site button and wait for it to finish.

Troubleshooting Backups

If you get stuck, look at our debug log first - it will let you know where exactly it got stuck and why - making it easy to troubleshoot:

Download Backup

Once the backup process has finished, you can download the backup from the top right:

Import Backup

Now that you have your backup, log into your static.studio dashboard, click Import Backup, and select the backup file you've created:

Confirm the upload by clicking on Import Backup, and you will see the progress of your upload:

Once the upload has finished, we will automatically close the modal window and queue your website for deployment - lean back, you're done here, and we handle the rest for you automatically:
