Create a Backup (WordPress)

We provide a free backup plugin that lets you back up your WordPress website in no time.

Install and activate Simply Static Studio Backup & Migrate, and you will be redirected to this settings page:

Most of the time, you can simply click the Backup Site button and wait for it to finish.

Download Backup or Copy Link

Once the backup process has finished, you can download the backup or copy the link from the top right:

Use the backup file when your site is not publicly accessible (e.g., in local development or protected by a firewall). Otherwise, simply copy the file link and continue the process.

Import Backup

Click Create Site, paste the link to your backup, upload it, then confirm by clicking Import Site.

Once the upload has finished, we will automatically close the modal window and queue your website for deployment - lean back, you're done here, and we handle the rest for you automatically:
