Create a Backup

We provide a free backup plugin that lets you back up your WordPress website in no time.

Install and activate Simply Static Studio Backup & Migrate, and you will be redirected to this settings page:

Click Backup Site and wait for the process to finish.

The status will be updated in real time in the Backup Status log. You don't need to keep this page open; it runs entirely in the background.

Download Backup

Once the backup process has finished, you can download the backup in the top right:

Import Backup

Click Create Site, select your downloaded backup file, and click Import Backup:

Once the upload has finished, we will automatically close the modal window and queue your website for deployment - lean back, you're done here, and we handle the rest for you automatically:

Troubleshooting Backups

If you get stuck, look at our debug log first - it will let you know where exactly it got stuck and why - making it easy to troubleshoot:
