WordPress Admin Bar Integration

Simply Static version 3.1.7.3+ now includes a helpful menu in the WordPress admin bar to make navigating options easier. This article will help you learn how the updated Simply Static admin bar integration works.

Once enabled, it gives you quick access to:

  • The current export status
  • Diagnostics
  • Settings

Activate the admin bar integration

Go to Simply Static -> Settings -> Integrations and make sure Admin Bar (Core) is enabled.

This integration is enabled by default.

Export status

The top-level item and first submenu item shows the current export status.

Depending on the current state, you will see one of the following:

  • Status: Idle
  • Status: Running
  • Status: Waiting

What each status means

Idle means no export is currently running.

Running means a static export is currently in progress.

Waiting means an export is paused or waiting to continue.

The status item links to:

  • Simply Static -> Activity Log

The admin bar menu includes a direct link to:

  • Simply Static -> Diagnostics

This makes it easier to quickly review warnings or errors that may affect your export.

The admin bar menu also includes a direct link to:

  • Simply Static -> Settings

Use this link if you want to jump straight into your Simply Static configuration.


Notes

  • The admin bar integration is only shown to users who have permission to access it.
  • Some users may see fewer menu items depending on their capabilities.
  • On Network Admin, the Settings link is not shown.
  • The status label updates automatically, so it can change without reloading the page.
